Two New Plays — One Great Night

Blue Caddie Written by Maureen Cornell Directed by Donald Sheehan

Lifers Written by Maureen Cornell & John Shea Directed by Donald Sheehan

October 25 - November 2, 2025 (6 performances) Fridays and Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. & 7:30p.m. Sundays at 3:00 p.m. Opening Night: Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025 at 7:30 p.m

. The Beal House 222 Main Street, Kingston, MA 02364

General Admission Tickets are $25.00 / Seniors & Students are $22.00

For tickets, visit TrueRepTheatre.com Tickets available at the door by cash or check

Runtime: Two Hours (plus one 15-minute intermission)

Kingston, MA…True Repertory Theatre is thrilled to open their season this fall with two new plays by Quincy playwright Maureen Cornell. “Each play runs about an hour, and they are very different from one another. The audience gets a double feature — both drama and comedy,” says Cornell. Blue Caddie, which starts the evening off, will have audiences on the edge of their seats. Two broken strangers at a bar think they have found a connection but soon realize neither is who they seem. This taut emotional thriller asks, how far will a parent go to protect their child? Blue Caddie, directed by Donald Sheehan (Pembroke) and stage managed by James Sullivan (Braintree), stars Brad Pickett (Taunton) and Julie Butler (Pembroke). Audiences will spend the second half of the evening laughing at Lifers, by Maureen Cornell and John Shea. Anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant will relate to this fast paced comedy about the beleaguered long-time staff at a Somerville restaurant beset by radical change: the smoking ban; a new manager, new computer system; and new yuppie clientele. As everyone tries to adjust to the changing dynamic, one thing is for certain — humble pie will surely be on the menu. Lifers, directed by Donald Sheehan (Pembroke) and stage managed by Rosemary Catrone (Bridgewater), stars Macey Ley (Jamaica Plain), Mark Reed (Hull), Rob Buckel-Gillis (Scituate), Julia Trueblood (Sudbury), Eric McGowan(Somerville), and Victoria Bond (Plymouth). True Rep is proud to give audiences the opportunity to experience promising new plays without traveling to Boston. “We believe it’s vital to provide space for new works to be developed. We love both of these stories and know audiences will, as well,” says artistic director Donald Sheehan. True Repertory Theatre Company has been creating unexpected theatre on the South Shore for the past 25 years, employing an immersive approach that allows audiences to engage with the work in surprising and meaningful ways. We focus on quality of performance and intimacy of setting. We strive to interact with the community on all levels, often finding connections for other service oriented organizations within our productions, through Project 719. We believe that through the simple act of storytelling we connect to one another — we discover common ground, foster new understanding, and encourage tolerance. If we listen to one another’s stories, we will find ourselves.
